Yemo Michael Sgaggero,92, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 6,2020. Born in Frostburg on January 11, 1928, he was the son of the late Frank and Lena (Lucato) Sgaggero. He was preceded in death by his wife Alva “Jean” Sgaggero, sisters, Elda Smith and Katherine Nicalota, brother, Veto Sgaggero, and great-grandson, Alexander Willison. Yemo served his country in the U.S. Army and he was a member of American Legion Farrady Post 24. He was retired from Westvaco Paper Mill and he was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish at St. Michael. Yemo would always help anyone who needed a hand. He is survived by son, Bill Sgaggero and family of Oakland ; Sharon Willison and husband Jack and family of Klondike; brother, Frank Sgaggero and wife Mary, and sister, Matilda Wilhelm and husband Ray. Due to covid-19, services will be private at Sowers Funeral Home. Father Eric Gauchat, O.F.M. Cap. will be officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. American Legion Farrady Post 24 will accord military honors at the graveside. Donations in Yemo’s memory may be made to Home Hospice, UPMC Western Maryland, 1050 Industrial Blvd. Suite 19, Cumberland, MD 21502.
