William Bernard Sivic, Sr.

William Bernard Sivic, Sr. 91, of Frostburg passed away on June 1, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born April 8, 1932 in Frostburg he was the son of the late John and Francis (Tomsic) Sivic. He is preceded in death by his wife Florence, three brothers and four sisters. He was the last surviving member of his family.

William served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He had worked at the Kelly as a plumber. He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish at St. Michael’s Church. He was a member of local 489, American Legion Farrady Post 24, DAV 26, and a lifetime member of the Piney Mountain Sportsmen’s Association.

William is survived by sons, William Sivic, Jr., and wife Donna, John Sivic, and daughter Melinda Abee and husband Gary; grandchildren, Cody Sivic and wife Keisha, Jenna and Blake Shillingburg, Alexa Abee, Ian Abee and fiancée’ Kelli Via, Jamie and Jake Taylor, and Justin Kretzer; great-grandchildren, Easton and Sawyer Shillingburg, Hank Sivic, Nathan Kretzer, and Bella Kretzer.

Funeral services will be conducted at Sowers Funeral Home on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Ed Hendricks as celebrant.  Friends will be received one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery where American Legion Farrady Post 24 will accord military honors.
