FROSTBURG- Robert Howard Plummer, 76, of Frostburg went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Born July 1, 1943 in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Howard A. Plummer and Virginia (Blank) Plummer. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Annie Blank and Edna Plummer and Emory Plummer. Also, aunts, uncles, cousins and his constant companion his dog Cindy.
Bob graduated from Beall High School in 1961 and Frostburg State College with a Masters of Education. He taught at Flintstone High School from 1966-1976. He also worked at Chapman Surveying until starting his surveying business, Plummer’s Surveying. He was a member of the Maryland Society of Surveyors. He was a member of the Eckhart Baptist Church where he was Church Clerk for several years and also a Youth Group leader. Bob enjoyed fishing and boating at Deep Creek and also on the Bay. He enjoyed studying his Bible and history and especially spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife Darla (Monahan) Plummer of 39 years and his son James Robert Plummer and wife Staci and brother in law Pastor Ken Monahan and wife Cindy.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m.
The funeral service will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Eichhorn and Pastor Ken Monahan officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Lowell Chapman, Robert Anderson, and Larry McKenzie.
Pallbearers will be Tony McCullough, Matt George, Randy George, Dustin George, David Jones and Chuck Race.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Eckhart Baptist Church for the Nehemiah Project, 17104 Old National Pike SW, Frostburg, MD 21532.
