FROSTBURG- Robert “Bob” Lewis, Sr. 74, of Frostburg died on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born April 13, 1942 in Eckhart, he was the son of the late John Willison Lewis and Annie McKay (White) Lewis. He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Lewis, siblings, Jack Lewis, Helen Phillips, Marylou Tharp, Tom Lewis, Mae Lewis, and grandson, Brian Andrew Lewis. Bob was a graduate of Beall High School. He worked at Metro Glass in New Jersey, L & H Services, J & R Texaco and retired after working 23 years with the City of Frostburg in the Street Department as a mechanic. He was a member of Eckhart Baptist Church. Bob loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and going to his son Bob’s garage. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen “ Patsy” (Joyce) Lewis, sons, Robert “Bob” Lewis, Jr. and wife Denise, Mark Lewis and friend Debbie Beckman, Brian Lewis and wife Cheryl, Dale Lewis and wife Patti, daughters Carol Zatkiewicz and husband John, and Janet Hager and husband Rick. Also surviving are grandchildren, Chris, Jolissa, Kayla, Kristal, Randy, Chelsie, Nathan, Dan , Anna, Sara, Tim, Nick, Zack, and Carli, 15 great grandchildren, brothers, Jerry Lewis, Henry Lewis, Raymond Lewis and wife Carolyn, Joe Lewis and wife Marge, sister Geraldine Felker, daughter- in- law Penny Bond Lewis, and special dog Baby Doll. Family and friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Pastors Matt Eichhorn, Gerald Evans, Jim Jeffries, and son- in- law Pastor John Zatkiewicz officiating. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Chris, Nick, Zack, Dan, Tim, Nathan, Randy, and Honorary Pallbearer Brian Andrew.
