Ray Steinly, Sr.

FROSTBURG- Ray Franklin Steinly, Sr. 95, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Sterling Care Frostburg Village. Born August 10, 1926 in Greenville Township, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Ruby (Compton) Steinly. He is also preceded in death by his wife Dora Elizabeth (Spiker) Steinly, one brother, Ervin and seven sisters, Beulah, Freda, Lucille, June, Eva, Doris, Janice, and son in law Regis McKenzie.

Ray was a member of Salem United Church of Christ and he had worked for Prichard’s Hardware and the Celanese. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on cars.

Ray is survived by his three sons, Ray F. Steinly, Jr. and wife Ila of The Villages, FL; James O. Steinly and wife Karen of LaVale; Harold C. Steinly and wife Janet of LaVale; two daughters, Bonnie K. McKenzie of Frostburg; and Donna J. Lease and husband Raymond of Cumberland; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; and brothers, John, Glen and Donald.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Diane Smith officiating. Interment will be in Greenville Cemetery.
