Phyllis Marie Pape

ECKHART- Phyllis Marie (Ryan) Pape, age 87, died peacefully surrounded by loving family on May 3, 2023, at her home in Eckhart, MD, after a long illness.

Phyllis was born on March 23, 1936, to parents Robert and Margaret (Eisentrout) Ryan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Harry Pape; sisters, Mildred Knepp and Molly Booth; brothers, Bill and Richard, and son-in-law Bobby Detrick.

Phyllis was Methodist by faith. She worked at Kings Department store, Woolworth’s, and Dollar General. She operated PAPE’s GREENHOUSE in Eckhart with her husband for over 35 years. Her joy in life was loving her family and growing beautiful flowers.

Phyllis is survived by her brother, Charlie Ryan, and sister, Virginia Sween.  She was blessed with four daughters, Linda (Jim) Hersick, Margaret (Kenneth) Blubaugh, Patricia Smith, and Shelia (Jimmy Dale) Rolland; 9 grandchildren, Jamey, Tresa, Sheena, Dianna, Kenneth, Amanda, Thomas, Latica, and Kayla; 12 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Aidan, Estella, Zenith, Benjamin, Phillip, Felicia, Layla, Lily, Tommy, Lyla and Elsie; and her lifetime friend, Norma Jean Kasecamp.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service following with Rev. George M. Harpold.

Interment will be at Eckhart Cemetery immediately after the service.
