Marion Elizabeth Hadley Stafford Boettner, 89 of Frostburg, passed away on February 28, 2023, at Egle Nursing Home surrounded by her family. 

  Born on January 5, 1934, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late Harry & Marion “Dot” Hadley.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her Husband Robert Stafford, Grandson, Jimi McDonald, Son-In-Law, Richard “Mac” McDonald, Husband, Roy Boettner and Daughter Teri Boettner Ruppenkamp.

 Marion was a graduate of Central High School and Frostburg State College in Education.  She was a retired elementary teacher from Allegany County Board of Education.  Teaching was her passion. She loved working with the children and interacting with them.

Marion enjoyed spending time with her family, vacationing, camping, crocheting, cooking and traveling to Florida each winter with Pap and their  special friends Mary and Roy DeVore. She loved spending time with her grandchildren,  great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  They made her heart smile.  She truly felt blessed to have so many. She thoroughly enjoyed attending church each week at Dawson United Methodist. 

 Marion is survived by three daughters, Nancy McGowan and husband Michael, Marion McDonald, Betsy Green and husband Kenny,  and three sons Bobby Stafford, Harry Stafford and wife Beverly, Keith Boettner and wife Melanie; a brother Dr. Harry Hadley and wife Arlene, a sister Caroline Sagal and husband Paul; grandchildren,  Julie Hoffman and husband Matt, Mickie McGowan, Jill Hartsfield and fiance Harry Hickle, Amy VanMeter and husband Jason, Sarah Rosenberger and husband Shane, Elizabeth Simmons and husband Asa, Ashley Pomeroy and husband Jeremy, Nick Green and wife Hollie and Natalie Green.  She has 14 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews.

 Family and friends will be received on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. 

 The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg with Pastor Michael McGowan officiating.

 Interment will follow with Father Keith Boettner officiating at Frostburg Memorial Park.

 The family wants to thank Egle Nursing Home staff for all their care and compassion given to our wonderful mom. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Egle Nursing Home recreational activities fund or to Dawson United Methodist Church, Rawlings Maryland.  

There are no goodbyes, as she will always remain in our hearts!
