Margaret Ann (Harris) Livingston, 79, of Frostburg, went home with Jesus on Sunday, September 25, 2016 while surrounded by her loving family at the home of her daughter and son-in-law (Teresa and Steve) in Frostburg. Margaret was the daughter of the late William Edward and Mary Isabel (McCready) Harris. Also preceding her in death were her husband of 47 years, R. Joseph Livingston, Sr., son James R. Livingston, sister Rosemary Colgan, and brothers John and William Harris. A graduate of Beall High School, Frostburg, Margaret worked as a nursing assistant at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland and on the cafeteria staff for Allegany County Public Schools and Bishop Walsh High School, Cumberland. She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg, where she was a life-long member and a Eucharistic Minister. Margaret served tirelessly as an advocate for the National Alliance for Mental Illness. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas (2058 St. Michael), Frostburg, where she served as an officer, and the Ladies Auxiliary of both the Farrady Post 24 American Legion, Frostburg and the Knights of Columbus Frostburg Council #1442. She led recitation of the Rosary at Frostburg Heights for many years. Margaret is survived by one son, Ronald J. Livingston, Jr., Germantown, three daughters, Brenda A. House and husband Scott, Short Gap, WV, Mary Kathleen Winebrenner and husband Jeff, Frostburg, and Teresa L. Farris and husband Steve, Frostburg; seven grandchildren, Joshua and Brandon House, Kristin Winebrenner, Patrick Winebrenner, Shannon Dellone (Bob), Amy Twigg (Jimmy Lee) and Matt Farris, one brother, James Harris and wife Pam, Chambersburg, PA and brother-in-law Robert Colgan, Manassas, VA; four great-grandchildren, Justin, Nevaha, Karlee, and Evan. Margaret encouraged Christian values for her family. She inspired others through her example. Family and friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Father Eric Gauchat O.F.M. Cap. as celebrant. The family extends its appreciation to the following for the care of Margaret: Divine Mercy Parish Outreach, WMHS Hospice and Home Health Care, Betty and staff of Personal Home Services, Medical staff at the WMHS Primary Care and Community Care Coordination, LaVale Lions Club, HRDC Meals on Wheels, and Pharmacare. Pallbearers will be Joshua and Brandon House, Patrick Winebrenner, Matt Farris, Jimmy Lee Twigg, and Bob Dellone. Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
