FROSTBURG- Kathleen Platter,66, affectionately known as Kat, passed away on Wednesday May 16, 2018 at Ruby Memorial in Morgantown. Born in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late John “Hank” Blubaugh and Rose (Skidmore) Blubaugh. She was also preceded in death by a brother Bill Blubaugh. Kathy was a 1970 graduate of Beall High School and she attended Catherman’s Business School. Kathy worked for more than 30 years as a medical transcriptionist at Sacred Heart Hospital. Kathy took pleasure in the little things in life, all the children she loved, and spending time with her large family. She also took pleasure in helping God’s little animals. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Platter, step-children, Christine Brown and husband Chad, David Platter and wife Pam, Keith Caple, 4 step-grandchildren, brother, John Blubaugh and wife Diane of Vale Summit; sisters, Kay Bennett and husband Richard of LaVale; Rosemary Arnold and husband Jess of Fort Ashby; and Julie McKenzie and husband Steve of Frostburg. Family and friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Monday, May 21, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. with Rev. Pascal Crites of Calvary Tabernacle in Accident.
