John Skipper, Jr.

MT. SAVAGE- John Skipper, Jr., 92, of Mt. Savage passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019 at Sterling Care Frostburg Village. Born September 8, 1927 in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John Skipper, Sr. and Elizabeth  Eleanor(O’Neal) Skipper. He is preceded in death by his wife Violet and two sisters, Catherine Cradford and Beryl Lepley, and brother William Skipper. John served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Kelly Springfield Tire Company after 40 ½ years. He was a member of the Mt. Savage V.F.W., a lifetime member of the Barrelville Outdoor Club, and a member of the Cumberland Democrat Club. He is survived by his son Robert Skipper and wife Bonnie of Clear Spring, grandson Brian Skipper and girlfriend Rachel Laudermilch of Clear Spring, and great-grandchildren CJ and Raven. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Friday, December 6 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Funeral services will be conducted following the visitation at 12 noon with Rev. Kyle Durbin officiating. Inurnment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
