John Francis Beechie

FROSTBURG- John Francis Beechie, 71, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024 at UPMC Western Maryland.

John was the son of William and Mabel (McKenzie) Beechie. He is also preceded in death by brother James Beechie and wife Patricia, and nephew William Beechie III.

John was a graduate of Beall High School and Springfield Hospital School of Nursing. He worked as an LPN at the Thomas P. Finan Center, Moran Manor, Joseph D. Brandenburg Center, and Frostburg Village Nursing Home. John was also a member of Divine Mercy Parish at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. 

He is survived by sister Mary Frances Schmidt and husband James, Frostburg; and brother William Beechie and wife Linda, Eckhart. Also, nieces and nephews Bilinda Thuss, Teresa Smith, James Beechie, Jennifer Weimer, Katie Schmidt, and Yung Purdy.

Family and friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Father Scott Kady as officiant.

Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
