Ina "Gayle" Kastell, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Feb 24 2024 at UPMC Western Maryland. Gayle lived a life filled with love, compassion, and unwavering faith.
Born March 2, 1953 in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Ina Mae (Rayner) Chabot.
Gayle leaves behind a legacy of devotion and strength.
She is survived by her husband of 52 beautiful yrs, Henry E. Kastell, her daughter, Frances Adrienne Browning, and husband Butch, her son Henry “Hank” Kastell 2nd, her beloved grandchildren Alexis, Barry, Noah, and Ethan.
3 sisters Marlene Lennox, Vikki Knieriem, Paula Willison and husband Bob.
A woman of deep faith, Gayle's spirit shone brightly through her selflessness and kindness. Her passion for baking brought joy to countless lives. Whether she was at the local casino, or enjoying a game of bingo, Gayle's true happiness was found in the company of her family and time spent with them.
Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her, as she leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. As we lay her to rest on her birthday, let us celebrate the beautiful life of Gayle Kastell, a woman who touched the hearts of so many and whose light will continue to shine eternally.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jim Jeffries.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
