Hazel Elizabeth Eagan, 91, went to be with Our Lord on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at the Goodwill Nursing Home.
Hazel was born on August 11, 1932 in Frostburg to Harry Edward and Kathryn (House) Deal. She is preceded in death by husbands, William Schiver and Charles G. Eagan, Sr., daughter, Michelle Schiver, sons, Charles G. Eagan Jr., John G. Eagan, and brother, Charles “Buddy” Deal.
Hazel was very active in communities in which she lived. She had a degree in Human Services and worked as an Addiction Counselor for Sacred Heart Hospital. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, the Sodality and the Catholic Daughters. She was also a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by daughters, Eileen Morgan, Beverly Schiver, and Julia Cramer and her husband, Randy, 12 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also, surviving are sisters, Betty Keyes, Nancy Lewis, and Patricia Marosek.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Parish at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father Ed Hendricks as celebrant.
Interment will be in Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
