Gilbert Carter

MONCKS CORNER, SC- Gilbert Alfred Carter passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at his home. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Yvonne Cooper Knight Carter, children, Nicole, Derrick, Katrina and Monique Carter; stepsons, Lamont Knight (Anesha) and Dwayne Knight; granddaughter, Olivia Grace Carter, siblings, Chester Leroy Carter, Jr. (Octavia). Mary Inez Carter and Connie Carter Usher (Leonard); mother-in-law, Elizabeth Joyner Cooper; sister-in-law, Eleanor Cooper Brown; and a host of other relatives and friends. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Friday November 8, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon. A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon with the Rev. Paul Dover and the Rev.George M. Harpold officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. American Legion Farrady Post 24 will accord military honors.
