Emery Vernon Loar,92, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Mountain City Rehab. Born in Frostburg May 11, 1928, he was the son of the late Vernon and Ruth (Albright) Loar. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Anthony) Loar, brothers, John E. Albright and Glen Loar. Emery served his country in the U.S. Army Airborne. He retired as an operating foreman with Potomac Edison. Emery was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, a Past Master of Mountain Lodge #99 A.F. & A.M. where he also served as Treasurer and Secretary. He also was a member of Ali Ghan Shrine where he served as Past Masters Unit Mounted Patrol. Also, a member of the American Legion Farrady Post #24, the Frostburg Elks 470 and the Cumberland Eagles 245. He is survived by a brother, Frederick Loar, numerous nieces, nephews and great grand- nieces and great grand -nephews. In accordance with Emery’s wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
