Bettie Johnson

ECKHART- Bettie J. Johnson, 88, of Eckhart passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born in Washington, DC on December 15, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Nichols and Martha (Lynn) Nichols. She is preceded in death by her husband Louis R. “Newt” Johnson, her son Roy Houston Nicely III, her grandson Christopher Nicely, and her great-grandson Damien Hogamiar. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Mike Nicely and companion Angie, Dennis Nicely and wife Melissa, Ricky Nicely and wife Diana, and Steven Nicely; daughters, Martha “Pooh” Nicely and companion, Tina Robertson, Vicky Nicely and companion Gary “Lurch”, Betty “Doc” Henson and friend Carolyn, and Beverly Nicely and companion Doug; grandson Hollywood, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her brother Eddie Nichols. A memorial service will be held for close friends and family on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sowers Funeral Home with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating.
