Ashley Cooper

CARLOS- Ashley Nicole Cooper, 31, of Carlos, Born August 9, 1984 at West Virginia University Hospitals to Rick and Kim Cooper, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 6, 2016 at home. Ashley had been ill for approximately 10 years with an unknown neuromuscular paralyzing disease. Ashley has had a tracheostomy and has been on a ventilator since July 2009 and has been cared for at home by her loving family. Ashley is survived by her parents and a brother Kenny and his wife Katrina and a sister Amanda, all of Frostburg. She is also survived by the loves of her life, her 3 nephews, Cameron, Owen and Kaden Cooper. Also surviving are her Paternal grandmother, Wilma Cooper-Winner and husband Larry of Carlos, and her Maternal grandparents Don and Claudia Beeman of Barton. Several Aunts and Uncles, including Roxann Cooper Baeza and husband Willie, Terry Beeman and wife Lori, Amy Engle and husband Kirk and Tina Thomas and husband Preston. Numerous cousins survive as well. Ashley graduated from Beall High School class of 2002 and attended Allegany College of Maryland. She worked as a phlebotomist at WMHS. Family and friends will be received at Sowers Funeral Home on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 11-2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. A Celebration Service of Ashley's Life will begin at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family wishes to give special thanks to the WMHS System Home Hospice especially, Kristyn Waasdorp and Morgan Houser as well as her caregivers, April Phares, Madison Seifareth, Autum Ritchie, and Harley Kuhn, and special life- long friend Heather Emerick.
